HOW TO BECOME A BETTER PERSON INSIDE AND OUT

Have you ever desired a complete life transformation? To become a new person, leaving everyone astonished and in awe?

I truly believe that every individual has inherent goodness and untapped potential. Sometimes, circumstances or fears hold us back, but there comes a time when we feel an irresistible urge to take control and change ourselves completely.

Such metamorphoses often occur after painful events, like a breakup, particularly if it was an unhealthy or toxic relationship or other experiences that shook our world and changed our perspective.

But even in the face of negative situations, why not seize them as opportunities to thrive? Why not turn that energy into a superpower? Life is short, and we only get one shot at it. How can we make the most of this precious existence?

Changing yourself starts with the inventory

First, you need to take a sober look at yourself – where you are standing, where you are heading and what are you doing every day with your life.

What patterns do you notice in your thoughts, behaviors, and relationships? Are there any toxic habits or negative thought patterns that keep showing up? Do you tend to self-sabotage or hold yourself back from growth?

So, to begin, it’s important to dedicate a substantial amount of time to SELF-EXPLORATION, getting deeply acquainted with the special person you are. Consider treating this process as a serious project that will significantly impact your life.

Writing can be a valuable tool in gaining clarity about your thoughts and feelings. Utilize a journal, therapy notebook, or a Panda Planner to document your objectives and monitor your progress as you continue on this self-discovery journey.

LET ME OFFER YOU A MINI PLAN TO FOLLOW FOR THE SELF-ASSESSMENT.

Your inventory should start from your PHYSICAL LIFEThat means honestly assessing your physical shape, levels of energy, and overall health.

Are you taking care of your body through proper nutrition, exercise, and self-care?

 Are you satisfied with the way you look?

How well are you put together and groomed at this moment?

Next, consider your SKILLS AND STRENGTHS. That’s something that you can use as leverage for your transformation.

What are you naturally good at?

What have you learned and developed over the years?

How can you use your strengths to achieve your goals and make a positive impact on others?

Similarly, address your LIMITATIONS. This is not meant to discourage or shame you, but rather to help you identify areas where you can seek support or develop yourself further.

What are the things you are struggling with?

What are your natural weaknesses? What acknowledging them would mean to you?

Particular attention you want to give to the inventory of your VALUES AND BELIEFS. This is pretty much the assessment of your worldview, your vantage point from where you make judgments about yourself and the outside world.

What is important for you?

What do you believe to be true about yourself, people, and the world?

Are these beliefs serving you or limiting you in any way?

Moving on to your RELATIONSHIPS. Consider the presence or the absence of social connections and how they align with your goals and values.

Who are the people in your life?

How do they impact you?

Are they positive influences or do they hold you back?

Additionally, take stock of your FINANCIAL SITUATION.

What are your income sources?

How do you manage money?

Are there any changes that need to be made in order to achieve financial stability?

Finally, consider your EMOTIONAL WELL-BEING.

Are you taking care of yourself mentally and emotionally?

Do you have healthy coping mechanisms for stress and difficult emotions?

Are there certain triggers that cause strong reactions in you?

How do you deal with stress, anxiety, or sadness?

Are you practicing self-care and seeking help when needed?

Becoming better means adopting better habits

Once you have clarity of the areas where you can improve it is time to take action.

Here is something you have to understand – what really makes us is the patterns we keep repeating day in and day out. In other words – we are the final product of the combination of our HABITS. So if you want to improve, adopting better habits is crucial.

If the topic of habits seems tedious for you and you don’t know how to approach this subject, refer to my other article about habit formation, where I explained in detail how to form new habits and make them stick with little to no effort at all! I promise it is much easier than you think.

It is all about reframing your thinking

Most of the inner conflicts and tensions you experience arise from the gap between WHO YOU ARE and WHO YOU THINK YOU SHOULD BE.

When you break the promises you gave yourself, it is normal to feel irritation, disappointment, discouragement, and guilt. The most destructive feelings (such as self-hatred) and behaviors (such as anger outbursts) stem from VIOLATING YOUR PERSONAL VALUES.

In simple words, you are just not happy with yourself, because you have an idea of who you should be, but you struggle to become it.

You may make promises to yourself to stop overeating, exercise more, or become more disciplined but find yourself reverting to old habits time and time again.

This cycle of frustration and discouragement will persist until you realize one crucial thing – IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT, BUT UNTIL YOU REPROGRAM YOUR SUBCONSCIOUS MIND THERE IS NO WAY YOU WILL ACT DIFFERENTLY.

Reprogramming your thinking can open new doors for you – leading to an upgraded version of yourself. Everything you desire is within the capabilities of your mind. The potential is there, it’s all about HOW TO EXTRACT IT.

I did a lot of research on this subject and the best thing I found so far is Real Subliminal. Real Subliminal is a collection of audio recordings that assist in reprogramming your subconscious mind.

Essentially, these are positive affirmations conveyed to your subconscious through MP3 files that aim to TRANSFORM YOUR INTERNAL BELIEF SYSTEM.

It is designed to help you accomplish various goals such as increasing motivation, overcoming procrastination, attracting financial abundance, achieving freedom from debt, and even attaining weight loss. You can check the list of topics here

Additionally, you can also check some books on the subject in particular, “The Power of Your Subconscious Mind” by Joseph Murphy and “Subliminal: How Your Unconscious Mind Rules Your Behavior” by Leonard Mlodinow.

These books delve deeper into the concept of reprogramming your subconscious mind and provide practical tips and techniques on how to do so effectively.

You will have to get out of your comfort zone

Let’s be real, any change is uncomfortable: it takes conscious effort, focus, and discipline. Who likes it?

But the truth is everything that you want, including a better version of yourself is outside of your comfort zone. The growth and the desired change happen when you are going through awkwardness, uncertainty, and discomfort

Usually fear is what holds us from taking first steps into the unknown. It’s quite natural that we choose familiarity because our brain associates it with safety. We are animals at the end of the day, and following our instincts will always be dominant in us.

So, venturing into the unknown is a monumental task indeed, as it challenges our very nature. But it’s necessary if we want to evolve and improve our lives. Stepping out of our comfort zone is not just about taking risks, but also about facing our fears and pushing ourselves beyond our perceived limitations.

Setting your goals for becoming a better version of yourself

Now, let’s get more specific. Based on my personal research, below is a list of the most popular items that can upgrade the average person and add to their value in the eyes of others.

I have compiled this list for your reference, but I encourage you to THINK FOR YOURSELF. We all have our own values and ideals, and we come from different perspectives. So, use this list as a starting point and customize it with your own goals and objectives.

How can you become a better person?

  • pay more attention to other people and try to be helpful;

  • make new connections, maintain solid friendships, and respect your family;

  • keep learning new skills and educating yourself, stay curious and open-minded, and invest in education;

  • have good manners, think before you speak, respect others’ boundaries, and stay friendly and accepting;

  • work on your emotional intelligence, trust and be trustworthy, be kind and forgiving to others;

  • be physically strong and fit, stay composed and resilient in stressful situations, and eagerly embrace changes and life difficulties;

  • be authentic and self-directing, take responsibility for your life;

  • be considerate of others and assume positivity in people, stop pointing fingers;

  • be financially independent and successful, stay debt-free, and invest in your future

In conclusion

Becoming a better person doesn’t happen overnight. It takes SMALL CONSISTENT efforts every single day, and we must learn to be PATIENT and KIND to ourselves in the process. When we judge ourselves too harshly and jump to early conclusions, that only defeats the purpose.

Instead, we need to shift our focus to progress rather than perfection. There will be unavoidable ups and downs along the way, and if we anticipate overnight success, we are setting ourselves up for disappointment. But as long as we keep putting in effort and disregard fallbacks, we will eventually see positive results in our lives. We absolutely must.
